How To Improve Your Professional Voice / Vocal Image

Introduction Humans are exceptional at making quick judgements.   People make very quick judgements about who you are within seconds of meeting.  What is a Vocal Image? The image that other people create in their minds as you open your mouth and speak.  It makes 50% of your first impression. Another 50% is contributed by your Visual Image. Visual image is your dress code combined with your body language and we all are somewhat aware of focusing on our visual image. People make judgements depending on your visual and vocal images about Who you are a person  How successful you are How confident do you look How friendly and trustworthy do you look You use your vocal image very dynamically when you are with your friends and sharing something that you are excited about. The problem arises when you use your professional or default voice, and then you start to sound like a "child asked to play an adult", serious, with no facial expressions, and monotonous. In this situation...

Do's and Don'ts of Public Speaking

Everything in the realm of communication is a skill, not a gift. Do's How to show appreciation to others "Say thank you followed by a reason why you are thankful" In our everyday lives, we say thank you to people too often without adding any meaning behind them. People receiving the Thank you's don't even appreciate them. You need to add a "why" to your thank yous. Let the next person know what you are thankful for and your thank you's will become much more impactful. How to become more expressive There are actually 20 facial expressions that humans can do. Why a person is not Expressive, Passionate, and Enthusiastic might be because they lack pitch, rate, volume, melody, tonality, and pause. Still, on top of all these, they lack facial expressions. A charismatic person is one who can do a lot of facial expressions. It allows you to drive so much energy into your voice and you can switch at any time.  That's what being authentic is, it is truly ...

Evolution Beyond Hard Wired Subconsciousness

Autonomic Nervous System v/s Consciousness Humans are hard-wired to take some actions through their Autonomic nervous system. Automated responses are out of direct conscious control like changes in the rate of digestion, breathing rate, and heartbeat rate. These are also known as somatic responses . An autonomic nervous system can be supposed to as analogous to a seesaw. The way a seesaw has two extremes, the autonomic nervous system also has two ends  alertness and calmness . Alertness is the  sympathetic nervous system whereas calmness is the  parasympathetic nervous system . When a human is triggered by a stimulus (a stimulus resulting in stimulation of the autonomic nervous system) it results in the development of action through the hard-wired signals in the brain. The parts of the brain involved in performing these actions are  the prefrontal cortex, insula, hippocampus, amygdala, hypothalamus, and limbic system . In such cases, your insula and others serve as ...

Refining Your Intentions

Reframing intentions to decide what is more important to accomplish as you have so many desires and all of those desires need actions to achieve. Doing what justifies your higher intentions is more meaningful rather doing something and realizing later on whether you did it right or not.  Being happy and being successful are two different things. Achievement of one can not lead to the accomplishment of the other and the joy of each other can not be interchanged. Success comes from external achievements whereas happiness comes from what is going on inside you when you are by yourself. Happiness alone can not lead to the fulfilment of life, success is necessary too. It is well said that if you want a peaceful life, you must be driven and focused on doing something meaningful for the outer world. Success requires refining your intentions and making strategies for their completion. Intentions can be money, power, fame, control, I and compassion, unity, integrity, community, and servic...

Mediocre Motivation V/S Training Your Subconscious Mind

Mediocre motivation pushes you towards mediocrity. I remember one of Sandeep Maheshwari's advice when he said to eat roasted ghee before sleeping to avoid overthinking. Avoid? Why Avoid?  Why can't it be reverted to Something good? I used to watch him a lot but now I don't, and to be more precise, I don't like to watch a lot of motivation spread around because it is a push towards mediocrity. Now I understand how a lot of #Motivators can never teach you to train your subconscious mind. 90-95% of the time you are doing what your subconscious mind wants you to do, and your subconscious mind is trained to mediocrity. So 90-95% of the time, you are constantly doing mediocre things and regretting them later on. You need to train your subconscious mind!! Here's how to do it. Stay with me, When is your subconscious mind most active? When you are about to sleep. Right? So, how can you train your mind when you are about to sleep? Sleep thinking about what you want to do, wha...

TYPES OF STUDENTS

Some students are more agreeable and tend to score higher grades because they are agreeable to the curriculum, making them docile and #Good students .  A calm and peaceful student who follows the curriculum because that's the way they are.  Then comes the intermediate category students . It includes a large category of students.  Some of them are good-scoring students ; they are good at studying, have good knowledge, have the will to do something bigger, and they are more  likely agreeable because they avoid creating too much fuss.  These are the students that the teacher wants to perform well and to make them a little more agreeable. They know how to thrive . Some of them are not good-scoring students but they are also likely agreeable . They do not perform well but manage to thrive with some effort happily or sadly. They do not create too much trouble for the curriculum and avoid being in the eyes of the teachers. They make themselves fall into problem...
