Millennials, The age of instant fame

Millennials, also known as Generation Y of Gen Y, are people born between 1980 to 2000. The group consists mostly of teens and people in their twenties. They are the biggest age group in current civilization. Since they grew up in a time when social media and digital technology have been integrated into almost all aspects combining massive globalization, social media, exporting of culture, and speed of change, they are
fame-obsessed.

On the negative side, they are described as lazy, narcissistic, and prone to jump from job to job. Being rewarded for minimal accomplishments, they have unrealistic expectations of working life. Reasonably, they are simply adapting quickly to a world undergoing rapid technological change.

The trend now is that millennials are more focused on extrinsic values such as money, fame, and image rather than focusing on intrinsic values like self-acceptance, group affiliation, and community.

Millennials’ obsession with fame is an increasing and disturbing trend, some reports say that millennials would rather be famous than pursue a career in law or medicine. This desire and determination to be famous are hyped and influenced by social media.

On social media young people can find, see, and are influenced by various social media channels. With an uncountable number of bloggers, vloggers, and influencers, it creates a mindset in this group that they too could achieve social media fame. They believe that the more followers, likes, or hits you get on social media, the more desirable you become. There are thousands of websites where you can now buy followers in bulk becoming a market for people who want to be famous and popular.

For some young people, fame comes, literally, overnight and others relate themselves believing that instant fame has an impact on a generation and makes them desirable leading to domination of immediate gratification.

Reality and celebrity culture also sends the wrong message to youth in both their body image and what it takes to succeed. And millions of youths are blindly influenced by their status and want to achieve it without realizing the reality of what is more meaningful and fulfilling than fame.

How To Improve Your Professional Voice / Vocal Image

Introduction Humans are exceptional at making quick judgements.   People make very quick judgements about who you are within seconds of meeting.  What is a Vocal Image? The image that other people create in their minds as you open your mouth and speak.  It makes 50% of your first impression. Another 50% is contributed by your Visual Image. Visual image is your dress code combined with your body language and we all are somewhat aware of focusing on our visual image. People make judgements depending on your visual and vocal images about Who you are a person  How successful you are How confident do you look How friendly and trustworthy do you look You use your vocal image very dynamically when you are with your friends and sharing something that you are excited about. The problem arises when you use your professional or default voice, and then you start to sound like a "child asked to play an adult", serious, with no facial expressions, and monotonous. In this situation...

Mediocre Motivation V/S Training Your Subconscious Mind

Mediocre motivation pushes you towards mediocrity. I remember one of Sandeep Maheshwari's advice when he said to eat roasted ghee before sleeping to avoid overthinking. Avoid? Why Avoid?  Why can't it be reverted to Something good? I used to watch him a lot but now I don't, and to be more precise, I don't like to watch a lot of motivation spread around because it is a push towards mediocrity. Now I understand how a lot of #Motivators can never teach you to train your subconscious mind. 90-95% of the time you are doing what your subconscious mind wants you to do, and your subconscious mind is trained to mediocrity. So 90-95% of the time, you are constantly doing mediocre things and regretting them later on. You need to train your subconscious mind!! Here's how to do it. Stay with me, When is your subconscious mind most active? When you are about to sleep. Right? So, how can you train your mind when you are about to sleep? Sleep thinking about what you want to do, wha...

Refining Your Intentions

Reframing intentions to decide what is more important to accomplish as you have so many desires and all of those desires need actions to achieve. Doing what justifies your higher intentions is more meaningful rather doing something and realizing later on whether you did it right or not.  Being happy and being successful are two different things. Achievement of one can not lead to the accomplishment of the other and the joy of each other can not be interchanged. Success comes from external achievements whereas happiness comes from what is going on inside you when you are by yourself. Happiness alone can not lead to the fulfilment of life, success is necessary too. It is well said that if you want a peaceful life, you must be driven and focused on doing something meaningful for the outer world. Success requires refining your intentions and making strategies for their completion. Intentions can be money, power, fame, control, I and compassion, unity, integrity, community, and servic...
